Use Your Brain layout

Ok so I broke out my October Afternoon box & created this layout. I have tons of OA stuff which is why it's the only manufacturer that has it's own box.
This is a layout of the kids first day of school September 2011
The title is something I say to them everyday before they leave for school. I have no idea how or why I started saying this LOL

The journaling in envelope reads:

I have been telling the kids to "use your brain" before they leave for school in the morning since they started kindergarten. I guess I hope it reminds them to pay attention throughout the day???
Aly 11th grade
Mikey 7th grade
Sophia 6th grade

Supplies used:
-October Afternoon pattern papers
     Fly a Kite (dandelions
     Cherry Hill (new apron)
     School House (chalkboard)
-October Afternoon Report card stickers
-MME So Sophie journaling cards
-Twinery Twine (charcoal)
-Maya Road envelope

Ok so....

Had a long & productive week. Went for my first wedding dress fitting. Oh my word that was expensive! Got the girls dresses. Booked honeymoon! Yay!
Now its back to scrappy business. Kids are back in school....phew! I am all set up for a major scrap session tomorrow. I finally get to use all my scrappy goods from my trip! Totally hyped!
So there will be layouts this week for sure. And I'm hoping a project & some organization.
For now here's a sneak of my dress! It's so beautiful. I waited so long to wear this....I can't wait!

Sweet dreams my friends...

Right now....

I'm loving these 5 scrappy morsels of goodness!

Loving my I-top button maker from Imaginisce. I originally bought it for my daughter Aly to use because she is big on putting buttons on her bags right now. Sophia is starting to catch on to this fad also. But I have to tell you...I'm having a grand ol' time with this. So much fun!

Oh my word.....this line has the prettiest colors in it. My Minds Eye ~Miss Caroline~ is totally my cup of tea! xoxo
Washi tapes from Pretty Tape. I can't get enough of this. I use this tape for everything. If I can find a way to use it. I do. ♥
My typewriter! Of course I don't have this one....I have a Brother, but this pic was much cooler! LOL I'm secretly dying for an antique typewriter. Ok maybe not so secretly. I am finding it much easier to get my words on journaling cards etc. I'm an old fashioned type of girl. Although I love the versatility of my PC & printer, there is nothing like the sound of that ching when pressing enter.
Like for real.....I am in ♥♥♥♥♥ with everything Authentique at the moment. I even love the feel of their papers. I just began this love affair. I'm sure like I always do, next month it will be something else. BUT RIGHT NOW I really really ♥ Authentique!

And Right now....I hope you are all having a wonderful blessed day!
XoXo

Today is a GOOD day!!!

Well let me start off by telling you that Tony & I are on a little mini Vaca!! If that isn't enough....I went to a real scrapbook store!!! Went to Scrappers Playground out in Long Island today! What a nice store. Totally loved how everything was all set up. The women were so lovely & so nice! Such a nicer experience than going to Michael's or ordering online. I so wish I lived closer! They were actually having a crop next door today. I've never been to a crop. As I like to say...I'm the only scrapper I ever met LOL. Looks like they were having fun. Wish I could have stayed & played. Maybe next time. Poor Tony was waiting in the car. I'm such a lucky duck to have him. He totally supports me & my habit err I mean hobby.
Ok so look at all the goodies.....
Loving Authentique & Echo Park This & That, Oh & let's not forget A boy's Life by EP. Who are we kidding I obviously loved a lot of it....Just take a look

Can't wait to go back! Maybe on our way home Monday! (wink wink)

Afterwards we had Arby's which I love but never get to eat because I have none near me. Now I'm relaxing with a glass of wine. Tomorrow we'll have breakfast at Ihop, relax & then go to a lovely dinner.
Love my mini Vaca's with my Tony.

Love the scrapbook shopping almost just as much LOL
Although if I had a scrapbook store closer to me, we may need to live in a cardboard box.
Today was a treat..today was a good day.
Looking forward to making all kinds of scrappy goodness!

The journaling is hidden on the tag & it reads:

Dear Bugsy,

Gamer layout

Hey everyone! Hope everyone is off to a great weekend! I'll be scrapping away tomorrow (I hope) Then Sunday is Football! Let's go NY!
Ok so I wanted to share a layout I did of my son Michael or Mikey as we like to call him or Mikadoo LOL.
He is an Xbox fanatic. So although he wasn't all that enthused by my pic taking, I snagged a few pics of him with his new Turtle Beach headset on. Man oh man he wanted these for Christmas so bad.
The journaling idea actually came from a real conversation with my son one day. I wanted to do like a 20 questions with my 3 kids & make a layout. So I printed the questions & as my son looked over them he really just started answering alllllll of them with the word "Xbox"

So the journaling reads:

This is generally how a convo with Mikey goes-

Mom: What do you feel like having for dinner?
Mikey: XBOX
Mom: What’s your favorite color?
Mikey: XBOX
Mom: How was school today?
Mikey: XBOX
Mom: Mikey you need to go to Brother’s & get a haircut.
Mikey: Ughh XBOX
Mom: You wanna watch a movie?
Mikey: XBOX
Mom: …..gives up! LOL
Mikey: Saves the world from Zombies…Again!

Supplies used:
DCWV Generation Tech paper stack
-AC card stock
-AC Thickers (stroll)
-Brad & metal holder thingy that came with a piece of furniture :)

Thanks for looking & Enjoy!

Organizational tip ~ Distress Ink storage

So I've been seeing a lot of people asking about distress ink storage along with the applicators. So I thought I'd share what I've done. Yes...another makeup bag LOL. You will soon notice that I use these a lot! They are economical & easy to clean. They are also usually colorful & pretty! So here it is.......

So I just labeled all the ink pads. I then placed all the sponge applicators in little ziploc bags & labeled them too. To take it a little further I inked the labels on the bags. I did notice while doing this how accurate the representation of the color is on the ink pad covers are. So you can skip this step. I like it because I have all those baggies in the zippered pouch & when searching for it I can see the color. So if I'm looking for tumbled glass I can see a blue baggie & it makes a little easier. I still have plenty of room in there for the applicators, zippered bag & room for more ♥ inks ♥

I ♥ me some Tim Holtz !!! LOL

Have a fantastic day!!!

Inspiration Push # 10 + Create your Dreams layout

Ok so how many times did you not have paper that went well with your pictures??? Far too many times for me. (Can't even believe I can say that with everything I have!)
I took these pictures of my very talented daughter painting & knew I wanted to scrap them right away. However, none of the papers I had went "perfect" with them. So I decided to make my own using some paint mists.
This weeks inspiration push we have:
Stash: Paints or Inks to make your own background paper
Quote: "Love is the blueprint for happiness" ~Lamar Cole

Choosing the quote was of course inspired by Valentine's Day!

Oh P.S. Very excited about this layout...it's the first time I machine stitched on one!!!! Be prepared to see more of that technique. LOVE IT!

Supplies used:
-AC Cardstock
-Echo Park Life is Good pattern paper
-Webster's Pages Bloomers in Coco
-Washi tape
-MM metallique Reverie butterflies
-Webster's Pages Whimsies (pink flower)
-MME Lost & found buttons
-Other buttons ~unkown
-Cosmo Cricket Tiny Text
-Sticko Cloud stickers

An assortment of homemade & brand spray inks were used to create background paper.
I also used some pop dots to make butterflies pop off page. (I glued centers directly to page)

Thanks for looking & Enjoy!
Be inspired & use up your stash!
